Built in 1911, the tower was named after Empress Elisabeth, wife of Emperor Franz Joseph I. Frigyes Schulek was the architect. The tower is near Budapest&#8217;s District XII, and may be reached from the Sz\u00e9ll K\u00e1lm\u00e1n t\u00e9r of Budapest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Buda hills<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At 526 metres, J\u00e1nos-hegy is the highest point in Budapest. Other hills in the area, Nagy-H\u00e1rs-hegy and Kis-H\u00e1rs-hegy, reach 454 metres and 362 metres, respectively. In clear weather, the M\u00e1tra Mountains are visible, 80 kilometres distant.
